Our MissionOur Mission
Derbyshire Toy Library Network was established in August 2005 by representatives from Derbyshire Toy Libraries and Childcare Providers to provide support, guidance and training to new and existing toy libraries in Derbyshire.

The Network is committed to:

  • Raising the profile of our members at local and regional levels.
  • Working to ensure Toy Libraries are represented on strategic planning groups such as Play Framework.
  • Helping Toy Libraries work effectively with the Local Authority and contribute to strategies, projects and initiatives.
  • Support the need for cohesive working across the county
  • Support & develop volunteers
  • Develop opportunities for providers to access toys and equipment for children with special needs
  • Ensure that all resources held within the network are used to their maximum effectiveness
  • Improve communication links both locally and nationally, to promote good practise and reduce isolation
  • Ensure parents, carers, childcare providers and healthcare professionals benefit from the resources and services of the network
  • Promote the development of Toy Libraries in Schools and Children's Centres in Derbyshire to ensure that they have access to Toy Libraries in their local communities
